Today is the First Sunday of Lent, a time we spend journeying with Jesus as he walks ever closer to Jerusalem and the world-changing events that are to happen there. The gospel reading for the First Sunday of Lent in the three year Revised Common Lectionary is Matthew 4:1-11, where we find Jesus feeling famished in the wilderness after a forty day fast. Matthew 4:1-11 (NRSV)
